AI Crystals Photography for Ebay
Transform your crystals photos into Ebay-ready product images. Professional backgrounds, perfect lighting, and marketplace-compliant quality.
A crystal listing on eBay is judged twice: once as a 40-pixel-wide thumbnail in a search grid full of nearly identical amethyst clusters, and once at full zoom by a buyer who wants to count the chips on every termination. Both views have to be earned by the same photo set, which is why crystals are harder to shoot for eBay than almost any other category. Translucent material changes color with the light behind it, polished faces mirror your camera and ceiling, and nothing in the frame tells a buyer whether a quartz point is three inches or three feet.
eBay adds its own constraints. Images must be at least 500 pixels on the longest side, and eBay recommends 1600 pixels so the zoom and enlarge tools activate. You get twelve free images per listing, backgrounds must be plain and uncluttered, and added borders, promotional text, and artwork are not allowed. For a single specimen you must show that specimen, not a stock photo of a similar piece.
Get scale, color, and damage on camera and you cut the biggest cause of crystal returns: not as described claims that eBay resolves in the buyer's favor.

Perfect For
Killing Reflections Before eBay Zoom Finds Them
eBay's zoom viewer rewards you for uploading 1600 pixel images and punishes you for every fingerprint, dust mote, and reflected window frame on a polished sphere, tower, or obsidian mirror. Shoot through a diffuser: a white translucent sheet or light tent with a lens-sized hole cut in it removes the black hole where your camera used to appear. Wear a dark top, kill overhead room lights, and angle the specimen a few degrees off axis so the brightest hotspot falls on a curve instead of the front face.
Raw and druzy material has the opposite problem. Flat frontal light flattens the sparkle that sells it, so add one raking side light low and close to catch the crystal faces, then bounce a little fill back in so the shadow side is not solid black. Clean with a microfiber cloth and a puff of air immediately before shooting, because retouching dust out of forty photos a week is not sustainable.
Proving Scale and Color to Prevent SNAD Returns
The most expensive crystal photo mistake on eBay is a backlit shot used as the main image. Sun or a light panel behind a fluorite or amethyst piece makes it glow in a way it never does on a shelf, and the buyer files a not as described claim. Shoot the gallery image under neutral, even light around 5000 to 5500K, set white balance with a gray card, and keep one honest ambient-light photo in the set alongside the pretty backlit one so both are documented.
Scale needs a physical object, not a caption. A ruler, a quarter, or an open hand works, but put it in photo three or four rather than the gallery slot, because eBay crops thumbnails toward square and a coin parked at the edge can disappear. Dedicate at least one frame to each flaw: bruised terminations, contact points, base saw marks, dye pooling in agate cracks.
