AI Pet Products Photography for Ebay
Transform your pet products photos into Ebay-ready product images. Professional backgrounds, perfect lighting, and marketplace-compliant quality.
eBay pet supplies listings live or die on two things buyers cannot get from your title: does the color match what they expect, and will it actually fit their animal. A collar photographed under warm kitchen light reads brown instead of burgundy, a "large" harness photographed on a plain sheet could be sized for a beagle or a mastiff, and both mistakes come back to you as a not-as-described return with the postage on your account.
On the technical side eBay is fairly forgiving but has hard floors. Images must be at least 500 pixels on the longest side, and eBay recommends 1600 pixels on the longest side so the zoom and enlarge tools activate. You get up to 24 photos per listing at no charge. The first image is the gallery shot and must be clean: no added borders, no promotional text, no arrows, no size charts baked into the pixels, no stock manufacturer shot standing in for a used item.
The rest of this page covers what actually goes wrong when the subject is a stainless bowl, a mesh crate, a plush squeaker or a chewed-on chew toy, and how to shoot each so the listing survives both eBay's rules and the buyer's expectations.

Perfect For
Shooting Reflective Bowls, Fountains and Mesh Crates
Pet gear is unusually hostile to a camera. Stainless steel bowls and slow-feeders act as mirrors and will show your phone, your hands and the ceiling light. Kill it by shooting slightly off-axis from directly overhead, bouncing a large soft source through a white card or shower curtain, and wearing a dark shirt so what reflects in the bowl reads as a neutral gradient instead of a person. Clear acrylic litter boxes and plastic water fountains need a lit background behind them so edges are defined by contrast, not by a hard rim of glare, and any water reservoir should be shot dry and clean since limescale reads as dirt.
Mesh soft crates, wire kennels and window-perch screens produce moire once eBay downsizes your file for the search thumbnail. Change your distance and angle a few inches until the pattern breaks up, and avoid shooting mesh dead-on flat to the sensor. Black nylon webbing, black rubber and dark fleece beds also swallow detail, so add a rim or side light to reveal stitching, hardware and weave.
Proving Size and Fit Without Overlay Graphics
Because eBay's picture policy rules out added text and graphics on your images, you cannot solve pet sizing with a chart pasted onto the photo. Solve it physically instead. Lay the collar or harness flat and place a tape measure in the same plane, extended along the adjustable range so the buyer sees the actual minimum and maximum in the frame. Shoot buckles, D-rings, and any snap hardware close enough to judge weight. For beds, crates and carriers, put a familiar object in shot: a standard water bottle, a tennis ball, a folded towel.
A photo of the item on a real animal is the most persuasive shot you have, so include one, but keep it as a secondary image and note the pet's breed and weight in the description. Your gallery image should be the product alone on a clean light background so the square search thumbnail is unmistakable, and repeat every measurement in the item specifics fields where eBay's filters actually read them.
