Killing Lens Reflections on a White Background

A sunglass lens is a convex mirror, so it does not reflect a small area of your room, it reflects almost all of it. Shooting straight on into a bright white sweep gives you two blown highlights where the lenses should be, which reads as damage or as a hidden defect. Use one large diffused source placed high and off the camera axis so the specular highlight slides toward the outer edge of the curve, then hang a black card above and in front of the glasses so what the lenses reflect is dark and even instead of your ceiling.

Watch the polarizer trap. A circular polarizer on the lens will cut frame glare, but rotate it against polarized sunglasses lenses and they go almost black or develop purple banding. That misrepresents the tint. Check tint density and gradient against the real pair before you upload, and never paint lenses black in editing.

Most sunglasses disputes on eBay come down to scratches, authenticity, or fit. Photograph all three instead of describing them. Micro-scratches and lens haze only appear under grazing light, so turn the pair so a single source rakes across the lens surface at a shallow angle and shoot that, plus a clean shot for color reference.
