AI Supplements Photography for Ebay
Transform your supplements photos into Ebay-ready product images. Professional backgrounds, perfect lighting, and marketplace-compliant quality.
Supplements are one of the few categories where eBay does not just recommend good photos, it effectively depends on them. eBay's health and beauty rules require dietary supplements to be sold new, factory sealed, in original packaging and unexpired, so your images are the evidence that your bottle meets those conditions. A listing that hides the safety seal, crops off the expiration date or reuses the brand's marketing render invites Item Not As Described claims, buyer questions about near-dated stock, and VeRO takedowns from the manufacturer.
At the same time supplement packaging is genuinely awkward to shoot. Glossy HDPE bottles and foil-stamped labels throw hard specular highlights, curved labels bend the Supplement Facts panel out of focus, clear gummy jars and amber glass need light passing through them, and a 60-count capsule bottle and a 5 lb protein tub look nearly identical when both fill the frame.
Get three things right and most problems disappear: a clean white main image that survives eBay's square thumbnail crop, enough resolution that the label text stays readable in eBay's zoom, and a documentation set covering seal, lot code and expiry.

eBay Image Specs That Matter For Bottles
eBay accepts photos from 500 pixels on the longest side, but 500 is useless for a Supplement Facts panel. Zoom activates around 800 pixels and eBay recommends 1600 pixels on the longest side, so shoot and upload at 1600 x 1600 or larger. JPEG is safest, and you have plenty of headroom under eBay's per-photo size limit. You get up to 24 photos per listing at no extra cost, which is more than enough to document a single SKU or a lot of three.
Search results and the app render thumbnails square, so compose 1:1. Tall capsule bottles are the usual casualty: shot vertically and centered, the square crop clips the cap or the bottom of the label. Place the bottle centered in a square frame with roughly 10 percent margin on all sides. eBay also wants the main image on a plain white or very light background with no borders, no added text like Free Shipping, no collage frames and no promotional badges.
Shooting Seals, Lot Codes And Expiry Dates
Because eBay requires supplements to be sealed and unexpired, build a fixed shot list around proof rather than styling. Photograph the induction seal or shrink band straight on, the neck ring intact, the printed lot number and the Best By or Exp date. These are usually ink-jetted in low contrast on a curved shoulder or a crimped foil pouch seam, so switch to a macro or close focus position, kill your softbox and use a small raking light almost parallel to the surface to make the dot-matrix characters catch shadow.
Then shoot the label in sections. A wrap label on a round bottle only shows about a third of its text at a time, so take three rotated frames plus one tight frame of the Supplement Facts panel filled edge to edge. Shoot the panel from directly in front at a slight distance with a longer focal length to reduce curvature and keep serving size, ingredients and warnings legible after eBay resizes.
