AI Electronics Photography for Shopify
Transform your electronics photos into Shopify-ready product images. Professional backgrounds, perfect lighting, and marketplace-compliant quality.
Shopify does not hand you a rejection queue the way a marketplace does, and that is exactly why electronics stores get sloppy here. Nobody bounces your photo for a gray background or a visible tripod leg. The penalty arrives later, as returns from buyers who thought the "Graphite" case was black, or as a Google Shopping feed disapproval because the hero shot has a "50% OFF" badge burned into it.
The specs you actually need to respect are the ones your theme and your sales channels enforce. Shopify accepts images up to 4472 x 4472 px and 20 MB, supports JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC, and allows up to 250 media items per product. Square 2048 x 2048 px is the safe target, and anything under 800 x 800 px will not trigger lightbox zoom in most themes, which is fatal for a product where buyers want to count the ports.
The hard part is physical. Gloss-black plastic, chrome bezels, brushed aluminum and dark glass screens all behave like mirrors, and Shopify's full-screen zoom shows every one of your studio's reflections at full resolution.

Controlling Reflections That Shopify Zoom Exposes
A gloss-black speaker or a phone screen is a mirror, not a surface. Shot with a bare softbox, it records a bright white rectangle with a visible frame edge, plus your camera, your hands and the ceiling grid. Because most Shopify themes open the hero image in a lightbox at close to native resolution, those artifacts are not hidden by a small thumbnail the way they would be in a compressed marketplace gallery.
Build a large diffused source and control what the product reflects rather than how bright it is. Shoot through a scrim or a white V-flat with a hole for the lens, keep the panel edges outside the reflection angle, and flag any stray hard light with black card so dark plastic keeps a real gradient instead of turning into a flat blob. Dust and fingerprints matter more than composition here: microfiber the unit, then check the 100% preview before you move the light, not after.
Variant Images and Colorway Accuracy in Shopify
Electronics live and die on colorways, and Shopify's variant image system is unforgiving about it. Every color variant needs its own assigned image, or the product page will keep showing the first upload when a shopper picks Midnight, Starlight or Silver. Themes that render color swatches from variant images will show the wrong chip too, which is how a store ends up shipping the wrong finish.
Anodized aluminum and dark plastics shift badly under mixed lighting: gray reads blue under daylight LEDs, silver reads warm under tungsten. Shoot every colorway in one session with one white balance, include a gray card frame, and correct all variants against the same reference so they are comparable side by side. Then check the collection grid, since many themes crop to the aspect ratio of the first image. Keep every variant shot at the same square framing and scale so the grid does not present one finish as larger than the rest.
